The first time I watched this DVD, I thought it was a bit flimsy in content and cheaply produced. However, my daughter who is 14 months old absolutely loves it! This is no rocket science, just a very simple concept - music, rhymes, basic words, puppets, toys and a bit of live action. As an added bonus this DVD won't irritate the adults.

The Baby Einstein range of DVDs and books are inspired; aimed at kids from infancy up to around 2 or 3 years they provide stimulae and help with focusing, co-ordination and developing the old grey matter. With its rudimentary puppetry and no-nonsense style, all set to some of the Bard's finest poetry, Baby Shakespeare is better than Baby Van Gogh but not as complete as Baby Mozart, and I recommend going for the Mozart one instead. The DVD is competitively priced on Amazon so if you're going to buy it get it from here.

My daughter (22 mths)seems to enjoy it - however, from her humming I think it's down to the classical melodies and not so much the poetry! She equally enjoys Symphony of Fun but I bought Baby Shakespeare expecting a better introduction to poetry from Baby Einstein and more Shakespeare...

My little guy is just over a year old and he is captivated by this video. He smiles and laughs at different parts of it. I would buy this again if I know what I know now and I don't say that about all baby toys!

Baby Shakespeare - World of Poetry [DVD]
I feel that I have paid £10 for an animated toy catalogue! Definitely NOT what it says "on the tin"! A few lines of obscure verse, spoken (only once) in a monotonous voice, followed by toys that are unrelated to the subject matter.
