Moving out when he says he still loves you

Relationship advice My husband of 20 years and I are experiencing very difficult times in our marriage. We can’t seem to resolve anything and are arguing constantly then we don’t speak, then kind of make up, then it all repeats over and over. It’s been like this for 18 months. Yesterday he told me he thinks he should move out on his own and we need to be apart. He says he is not breaking up with me and still loves me. I am not convinced as I reckon it’s a cop out to escape the marriage and pretend for a bit he’s still in love and wants us to be together but then drop the bombshell one day and say it’s all over. What do others think about this? I believe being apart would cause more stress and distrust as that is the issue on my part, I don’t trust him because of a few incidents and behaving inappropriately.

Sometimes a little break from the fighting can do a relationship a lot of good. It doesn’t sound like he wants a divorce, he just wants some space. I have been there, and I know it’s hard to accept and understand. My hubby came back home after a month of taking space. Not saying it’s ok, but just trying to give you some hope!

Wish you the best!

I think he wants to be (or appear to be) single for a while, but keep you on the line.

So ask him what this means, that he “moves out for a while.”

Does that mean both of you can date others? See what he thinks about this idea, when you find out what’s going on with him.

Thank you both for your replies. I understand what you are saying about a break. By the way he spoke though he’s getting his own house, so I anticipate it being for more than a month

Hello Pearlj15:

It may help me understand and maybe offer you something of value if you elaborate on those few incidents of him "behaving inappropriately"

Throw him. And find a good normal relationship. Do not commit my mistakes.
I had a girl whom I met on ukReine. After that, a year later, she said that she needed time to think things over. and went to her home. After that, I have jealousy, mistrust and it is no longer possible to fight against them
