I'm a 26 year old male sitting jobless and gave no work experience. I have some weird mentall illness which I don't know. I have so many "ifs and buts" regarding my career and very unclear what I want to do. I have a bad habit of not taking action right away when I think of taking any action. I am just a BA graduate. I did nothing after graduation. I don't even know for what I am fit for. I am just wasting my time doing nothing for years. I don't even have enough money to start my own business. I have many concerns when it comes to jobs 1. Distance & travel : I don't want to work in an office which is far away from my home. I fear most of my expenses will go in daily commute which means my salary has no profit. I want job near my home so that I could spend less money on travel. 2. Dog care : Dog doesn't defecate at home. He needs to be taken out for walks between noon and evening too just for defecation. If I work and stay at home, how will he go out and defecate in that time. He goes out 2 times a day. Early morning walks I can manage, but nit afternoon walks if I have a job. I cannot even take him out in late night. I am not rich enough to hire a dog walker. 3. Future prospect : As I am sitting unemployed, I need to get a job as soon as possible. I have a fear that I may not see any income and career growth. This is the reason why I am stuck thinking what should I do. 4. Roommate issue : I don't like the idea f living with roommates. I cannot adjust with others. For the sake of job opportunities, people have to move out of their cities. I feel I won't be able to live freely with others. If I live alone in a different city, it will drain my money. 5. Living in an utopia : I often fantasize about finding an opportunity to earn money by sitting at home. I only have a smartphone. It sounds so fun but it is all bogus in reality. I don't even know where I am good at and for what I am capable of. I have no skill or talent. I just have meaningless talent like knowing capitals of all countries. I use google sheets for fun.

Hey! I hear you. It feels overwhelming when you don’t know where to start, and it’s easy to get stuck in your thoughts. But the truth is, if you don’t jump in, you’ll never know. Once you’re in it, you’ll figure things out along the way. Online work isn’t a fantasy. It’s real, and so many people are doing it. You can too. You just need to start somewhere. Go step by step. Look up free courses on Coursera, Udemy, or even YouTube. Pick a skill and just start practicing. You don’t need to have it all figured out right now. You already know Google Sheets for fun. That’s actually a great skill. People pay for that. You can start freelancing on Fiverr, Upwork, or Freelancer with basic tasks like data entry. Meanwhile, upgrade your LinkedIn, connect with people, and start reaching out. Apply for jobs every single day. 15 applications. Every. Single. Day. It’s a numbers game. I know it’s hard to take action when your mind is full of doubts, but nothing will change unless you start. You don’t need a perfect plan. Just take one small step today. There’s so much you can do, but you have to believe it’s possible. The only thing stopping you is the belief that you can’t. Shake that off and go after what you want. Let me know if you need any help!

Question, can you afford a laptop? An old one will do. You just need a laptop & an internet connection. You mentioned Google Sheets, so I am assuming you have a computer.....

I use google sheets in my mobile app. The only issue I have with online jobs is that I may get scammed and lose money.

I can't speak to your point about working from home since this is something I've never been able to do. I also don't know anything about your mental illness, but you know about it better than us. But I'll give some brief responses to your other points. 0. Being a 20-something male with a Bachelor's puts you off to a good start. Many jobs want a young, educated man that doesn't have too much experience with their competitors, so they can shape you to their system and ways of doing things. A lot of us procrastinate and have difficulty making decisions. I have found it's always good to be thinking ahead about your next steps, so maybe that's something that can help you plan and make ideas more realistic. 1. There is definitely a point where your commute is too long. If you think 1 hour is manageable, it probably isn't, but maybe 40 minutes is. You have to consider a number of factors, including fuel costs, wear and tear on your car, the weather, over all route and turns involved, traffic density, time of day (visibility) and your own motivation level and punctuality setting out on time every day. And then you need to consider that you will do this twice each workday. Some jobs might pay well enough or be on a straight-stretch and be well worth the cost of driving 40 minutes to and from every workday, for example. And you might find you really enjoy driving to another area for work, or enjoy listening to a program on the drive to or from work. 2. The reason I personally don't have a pet is that it's a big responsibility, and this creature is relying on you for food and bathroom breaks. It's also an added cost with food, vet visits, and other tools and supplies. But pets do enrich our lives and provide us with reliable and beloved pals. They can improve our health and become a big part of our daily lives. Admittedly I'd love to have a pet, but can't afford it or justify it right now. Like I said, that animal is counting on you for everything. One thing I can suggest is training your dog to use puppy pads at a set place indoors, while you're away. At least the poor thing won't have to hold it in while you're away for several hours. If you continue to live alone, you may need to give up late-day walks, maybe take longer morning ones. 3. You shouldn't just be unemployed for months on end. You should get it in your mindset that you should always have some job, and try to bring in enough to support yourself and cover your bills and expenses. I was once, not that I really wanted to be, but that's another story. Fortunately I started one again before it went on for whole seasons. I think at this point, you need to find something, anything, to get money coming in. It is alright to apply for jobs that pay better, or that you think might work out better for you than others, but be aware that the hiring process can sometimes take months. In the meantime, maybe some other job will take you on. And unfortunately you might have to settle for part-time for a bit. If you don't have a resume, start working on that now. 4. You might have to settle for the best thing you can get for now, realistically. Those jobs you really want may be hours away in a big, expensive city... So you may have to set that as your long-term goal for a few years from now, and start off by finding the best possible job and apartment for now. There is a lot to consider just looking for a place to live. Rent, security deposits, lease terms, which utilities are included, what utilities cost, what other monthly expenses you may have. Also, how much privacy the place gives you, what the area and neighbors are like, and whether your neighborhood has desirable things like a gas station, coffee place or grocery shop nearby. Maybe a good pizza place, or proximity to a fire company, police station or a hospital or clinic. And that is typically a long-term agreement. My advice would be to avoid extended-stay hotels as a place to live for any period of time. Find a real apartment, and at least a halfway decent one where you feel safe. With decent parking and good locks on doors. You have to settle. Ideals are nice, but you need to be realistic. And if you look around you can probably find some work you can tolerate to save some money at, with a company that isn't too power-hungry. I hope some of this is helpful to you.

HHK and Balance, Eeeeex-cellent responses, you guys! Huge thumbs-up! (- one of those giant, comedy sponge ones you get at footie matches). Very impressed. :))))
