Relationship advice Hello, last weekend my girlfriend signed into her Facebook page to find a message from a male (who she claims she doesnt know) saying 'hey, wherever you are right now, i'll pay for a taxi for you to come to mine so we can fuck like we was gonna'. . My girlfriend was adamant she doesnt know this person and replied with quite a strong worded reply, telling him exactly what she thought of him and basically had a go at him for messaging her with a message like that. . He then replied with 'dont flatter yourself' and blocked her so we couldn't send anymore messages to him. . But at this point id already convinced myself she was guilty and pretty much told her we were over. . . The following week she used one of her work friends Facebook to track him down and tell him what he had caused with his message, she screenshot all the messages and emailed me them to prove what was said. . . Basically, after a few messages the male in question said that him and his partner had recently split up and he was drunk with his friends when he sent that message and that he thinks he hasn't spoken to her for years, which is a contradiction as my girlfriend claims they've never spoke at all, let alone for a few years. . My girlfriend remained adamant on her messages to him that she doesnt even know him and has never intended to 'fuck him' like he claimed. . And in the end he messaged her saying 'think im mistaking you for somebody else'. . . Which should be the end of it but i still remain unconvinced! Do you believe it was a mistake and the message was meant for somebody else? And most importantly of all, is my girlfriend innocent and telling the truth in all of this?. . I'd really like other peoples views on this as it is driving me crazy!. . just for the record nothing like this has ever happened before and i have no reason to believe she would of cheated. . Help!

Hey I do not know your girl. But from what your post reads I say she is telling you the truth.

I can understand how you would feel son angry and annoyed by this.... it was a harsh message. you know your girl and no whether she would entertain that sort of guy..... because he sounds like a louse to use language like that to lady.

Damn facebook causes nothing but trouble..... don't have one never will...

I think she has nothing to hide from you and I think you should relax and trust her. Can I ask was it a private message? Because he has to be her friend otherwise. So that proves something he looked for her on facebook drunk and did that, then blocked her.

I would let it over your head completely if you do not it will only wreck you head and then some dickhead of a stranger drunk somewhere will win.....

You know the truth deep down.....

let go of the threat and the anger associated with it..... your girl is going no where and think how she must feel.... being accused of cheating with a looser who speaks to her like that..... think think think....

Bring your girl out for dinner, and be the gentleman that you are and be happy, live every day to the full.

Trust is a leap of faith sometimes.......

The issue should be CLOSED. Over with - a mistake on his part. Let it go.

You say you have NO reason to doubt her and so you should not hold her responsible for the actions of a jackass. Get off her case about it.

And tell her to stay off FB.

Hey your girl friend is saying the truth here! If she wasn't she wouldn't have gone to this extent in cornering this man! Trust her. Girls will attract lots of unwanted attention as well and FB is a medium for these men to connect with unknown girls too.

I agree with the last post I am in the generation that is in between old fashioned dating and is still apprehensive about facebook and social media..... using it only if we have to.......

I do fear for the future regarding the loss of real dialogue, everything is immediate gratified and it is easier to just have a substitute online, it gives you similar feelings but it does not challenge, or inspire, and you do not grow, and it is a trust killer, fills you up with doubt....

We probably sound old as a the hills...

To me facebook is like the high school reunion night that never ends..... all competing with each other..... I know people who take photos when out specially for facebook..... to get to someone or to show 'I am so popular'.... and people measure their self worth and value on how many friends they have bla bla...

I know one relationship I did not start because of facebook....... I do not do it and prefer to meet someone of the same understanding but you never know....... wont hold my breath!!!

It can be used to bully, leave someone out publicly humiliate, I think it is awful yolk....

I hope the posts have helped you, and eased your mind somewhat on all of this.....

I agree with Gwendo.

This should have been OVER and you should have recognized that this guy is a jerk.

Instead, you suspect your GF and question her innocence.

You owe her an apology.

I think if you really love her you should forgive her and put everything in the past. In my opinion, she is telling the truth but not all the truth. But I know one thing that she really scared of losing you. She really loves you. And you dont want to lose that kind of girl who loves you very much in your life. Sometimes people make mistake, people screw up, just love them with all the imperfection.

And I also think that that guy is a jerk. You have to take her side. And even if they talked, its been a very long time ago, its in the past. Maybe she lied, but she lied because she doesnt want to lose you. Love her, she is a nice girl :)
