Summer romance, a year later
Hi, I'm a teenager that's almost done high school. Last summer I had a fling with a guy I had known for a couple of years already. He lives about 3000 miles away from me and only comes up in the summer. Things went great and when he left we briefly talked to each other before losing contact for 8 months. Now he's back and I'm very confused. I would like to have another fling but I'm getting mixed signals. He's a very nice guy and always hugs and gives people affection, which I didn't mind last year. Now, he hangs out a lot with this other girl and I can't tell if it's just friendly or not. My friends say that I should just make the fist move and that no guy will turn down a chance to be with a girl only for the summer, but I don't want to interfere if he likes another girl, even though I'm pretty sure she's not into him. I'm not head over heels in love, I just want something that will be done in September, by the time school comes around. What should I do? He's not the most mature guy so I don't know if talking about it will help.
You don't really have any thing to lose. You don't want any thing long term. So if he turns you down you didn't really lose anything but a three month fling that wasn't going to go any where any way. Go for it.
Thanks! I just don't want to make it awkward since we're in the same circle of friends and as it's a small community, news travels fast.
