Flirty fun gone wrong

Other advice Okay so I'm in my mid twenties & this man is 50. We live in the same town & have met twice. He is a big flirt, always full of compliments, charming. He broke up with someone he was seeing a few months back, even though he told me at the start this person was just a friend who he had found out was lying to him. He would also harmlessly flirt with me online before this breakup, also asking what I was looking for, etc. Anyway, we starting flirting more & we agreed to have a friends with benefits sort of thing. He would suggest meeting up a few times, but would end up cancelling & wanting to reschedule. I eventually said its best we just call off meeting up because it never works out. He replied with an unusual short 'ok'. I got annoyed & told him to waste someone else's time & goodbye. He replied ' sorry you feel that way & take care'. I told him I thought he was lovely but was starting to feel stupid. He never replied. I unfriended him due to being upset. After a few days I felt a bit guilty at my outburst & sent him an apology for it & explaining how it felt like he was stringing me along. I said I was happy enough just being friends online, and if not, to take care. No reply so I havent bothered anymore. Am I right to feel upset or am I in the wrong? I feel so silly !

Maybe he wasn't able to live up to the" Benefits" part of the arrangement- What 50 yr old man would cancel with a young 20 yr old! Read the TEA leaves- all flirt no action. You should happily move on.

I agree with skinnygirl. I was once offered by a 23 year old woman when I was about 28, and it was a disaster.

I was not that good with women anyway, only a certain kind (whore)and not many of those, 1, my girlfriend and later wife. This 23 year old wore hot pants to a new year's eve party, and came on to me, and lived below me.

How does a guy say no? I couldn't figure out how, some guys can, so she lead me to her place, below my place. I couldn't perform. Embarrassing. Had to see her the next day at our mutual small apt. complex new year's day party, and that was the most embarrassing one or 2 hours of my life, for both of us.

Also turns out, the guy who was giving the party and his wife, had been looking in the girl's apt. window, and saw me failing miserably, and I know, were laughing to no end. Of course, maybe good thing I failed, for she could have gotten pregnant (no birth control pills at that time).

Also, as noted in the post above, the age difference sounds good on paper, but what if the 50 year old fails in front of the c. 25 year old? And then he sees her again at a social function? Oh, horror! The girl doesn't have to do anything. The guy does.

What if the guy is not sexually attracted to the girl, but thinks of her more as his daughter? And that age is not really appealing, except in his fantasies? So the girl cannot automatically call the shots and get a response. The guy has his input also, and if it's not a match, it might not happen, or if an attempt is made because he can't get out of it, it could be a huge embarrassment. For both parties.
