Relationship advice So my ex and I broke up in April and although she was the one who dumped me, it was my fault cause I wasn't showing her much attention. We are cool, but do not talk. Even though we have no contact, something happened to me a couple weeks after we broke up and I realized how important she was to me. I let her know but she said my lack of interest for so long has really hurt her. BASICLLY ITS BEEN MONTHS AND IVE DATED HERE AND THERE BUT NO ONE COME close. WE HAVENT HAD CONTACT IN.2-3 MONTHS AND HER BDAYS SOON DO I GET HER A CARD AND TELL HER IVE THOUGHT ABOUT HER AND I Hope SHE HAS A WONDERFUL DAY OR NOT

I would ask to take her out for her birthday. Girls like to be wined and dined for their birthday and even though you guys haven't had contact like that the best way to go about this situation is to prove yourself. Your going to have to prove that you are interested and by doing that means being there for her in any capacity even if just as a friend right now. Show her how important she is don't just tell her. Your gonna have to do leg work buddy.

The only problem with that is she might be sort of seeing someone else ...I don't think it's that serious tho but I still don't know. I mean I tried asking her to grab some food with me a couple months ago and she said she wasn't ready. I'm just wondering if maybe sending her the card and small gift wouldn't open the lines of communication again.

What was your reason for not giving her much attention?

Sending her a birthday card/gift would be OK. You say she may be seeing someone, what makes you think it's nothing serious? Is the fact that she's "sorta" seeing someone making you feel that you might be losing her for good?

As the saying goes "you don't realize what you have until it's gone"

Normally people don't really change, they say and promise everything only to revert back to their old ways and behaviors. She has no reason to trust or believe anything you say.

She said "that your lack of interest in her for such along time really hurt her" how long did this go on?

When anyone shows indifference, alienating affection, showing a lack of interest in the person, to me is a form of emotional/mental abuse. The hurt is real..

You say "a COUPLE WEEKS after she broke up with you, it was THEN you realize how "important" she was to you (really!)

Words mean nothing your actions speak the truth.

Good Luck
