Can someone please give me some advice x

Hi everyone. Just wanted to come on here to see if I could get a bit of advice from someone other than my mum and friends, I know they say things to make me feel good, basically I come out of a relationship a few months ago. On and off for around a year, I loved him with all my heart but he treated me so badly towards the end and I finally cut contact with him. Recently I have met someone else, hasn't been going on for long 5 weeks or something but I think my ex has damaged me so much that I have such bad trust issues I randomly today called things off because I thought he was being distant I think it's all in my head. He seemed really in to me, took me out really nice to me but he has split with an ex 9 weeks ago that he was with for 2 and a half years and im so paranoid that he will get back with her and hurt me I don't think I could cope with heartbreak again so basically I have told him its best to leave things... He was ringing me earlier but has given up without a fight? Maybe he's been in contact with his ex that's why he's not to bothered? Hope someone is able to help me x

Can someone please give me some advice x

What reason(s) do you have for suspecting that if he thought you and he were over, rather than you just having a giant wobble, he would automatically contact his ex or that she'd fall automatically back into his arms even if that WERE something he'd be apt to do? What do you MEAN you couldn't cope with heartbreak again. Er - hello? Isn't that exactly what you're faced with right now? And by your own hand? Why do you want heartbreak to be at your own hand rather than his or Fate's? What, you think it hurts less if you're the one to stick the knife into yourself? Or that your only possible outcomes on your menu are [a] he gets me, [b] Fate gets me, [c] I get me first... rather than there equally being [d] nobody gets me (or anyone) and THIS time it turns out happy ever after? Or DO you have any reasons for suspecting, etc? If not, then it's reasonable to suggest he might just have decided to do the sensible thing and wait what feels like a realistic amount of time for Ms Rational to 'come back into the room' so that he can talk to her instead of Ms Wobble? I can't hazard an educated guess one way or the other unless you tell me you've absolutely no grounds for suspecting, other than fearful imaginings.
