Breaking up and making up
Hi all, I've been dating this great girl for the last 2 years. Two weekends ago she dumped me while we were on a night out, I was shocked to put it mildly. Lots of tears all round. No real explaination at all. We're both in our late 30's, both divorced on our second time around. After spending years in a bad marriage I really thought I had I had met the girl of my dreams, sexy, beautiful and great fun to be around. We never once had an arguement so it came as a complete surprise.
I went home that night with an empty heart and I cried like a baby all night. I sent her a few text messages that night and a few more the following day but no reply at all. I had thought I'd done something awful on her.
As she wasn't answering my calls or texts all week I decided to send her a nice letter, not sure what way she'd take it. Anyway she text me to thank me for the letter and e-mailed me a response, a trivial matter and maybe a case of cold feet which can be easily resolved. I know she'd been hurting too. Nothing serious like I had though.
Fast forward to this weekend which would have been a special date for us, I text her to say I was thinking of her, she replied that she'd been thinking of me all day. A few more texts all followed by xxx's. Then last night she said that if I still wanted that we should meet up for a chat and that she hated not talking to me. To say I jumped for joy would be an understatement! So we made a date for this week. A few more few friendly messages today, my spirits have been lifted.
Now here is where I need some help. I'm fairly sure she wants me back and I definitely want her back. What should I do now so I won't ruin my chances of getting back with her?
Looking for advice from a lady's perspective please.
If you two do decide to reconcile in the future, you need to know why she broke up with you. Did she do it just to see what would happen or was she having an issue and just didn't want to say anything? Just because you guys have never had an argument does not mean that everything was fine. What happens if she wants to break up again if you two decide to get back together? I think you two should take things slow, maybe make a date for each week or so, see what happens from there. Don't push too much, but at the same time, do indicate that you still have feelings for her and if she wanted to try again, you would be all for that.
