i have recently resign from the job as i had an issue with department boss.was feeling there i am unemployed...when called hr for clearance..he said if the reason behind ur resigning is the issue with dept boss,sort it out and if u could consider for rejoining,we can go further.
Now the thing is for this i need to talk with my dept boss and apologize him.i could be back on job..but its really embarrassing to work there after happening such things,what about reputation...i am confused

Are you thinking of going back to this same company? You resigned because you were unhappy with your job. Why even go back?

However, now it has been told to you (by HR) that if you want your job back, you should "sort if out."

That does NOT mean you must apologize to your boss. It means you need to discuss the situation and find a way that you can still work there and comfortable.

Have a representative from HR at a meeting with you and your boss. They will hear both sides of the story.

There is no "shame" in solving a problem.
