Birth control - his turn and 8 years later... still no vasectomy

S-e-x advice Before we even had children, I was the one who took care of the birth control. We agreed that after we had our 2nd child, husband would go and have the vasectomy (V). After our 2nd child was 6 months old and still no V, I went ahead and had an IUD put in, which was a 5 year plan. Done.

Five years passed. Still asking him to get the V done, but would hear "I'll do it in the spring." "I'll take care of it in the winter." After awhile I (once again) went in for a procedure and had the Nexplanon (3 year birth control) inserted into my arm. After 9 months of nonstop heavy bleeding, miserable cramps and mood issues, and pure overall hell, I had it removed. You would think in these 9 months he would of had the time (find the time) to have the V done. Nope.

Our second child will be 8 years old next week. Back on April 15th of this year, I had a discussion with husband regarding the V, me wanting a puppy, and how we need to remain on the same page when it comes to parenting. Tears and all. He agreed he would do the vasectomy - under one condition...to stop discussing it with our friends. It just makes him upset. Deal.

That was nearly 6 weeks ago. To my knowledge, no appointment has been set up yet. I am depressed. I feel unwanted. I use to talk to my girlfriends about this issue but I feel the need to keep my end of the bargain.

You should not tolerate that behaviour. Ge said he would do it, so he should either that or go back to condoms. You should not be putting your body through long-term plans if he can't. I know I'm young but I was in a destructive relationship for 4 years so I know it's easier said than done to make a stand and stick with it. But you need to do something and if you just keep retreating it'll be hard for you to respect yourself and those choices. At least it was for me
