Easy ways to improve your skin

If you are dealing with skin problems, you are probably frustrated and annoyed with the lack of results from all of the products you have been spending money buying and time applying. People spend so much money on skincare products that don't help that they have less money to do things that are fun and/or productive, and that is a lose/lose situation for everyone. And it's not just the plebeians that are suffering from acne, dry skin, and other skin issues. Celebrities like Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson, and Katy Perry have all admitted to fighting with their skin problems, too. But you don't need a lot of money or a team of beauty experts to clear up your skin. There are a number of easy ways to improve your skin, and most take little time and almost no money. Here are a few tips to get you started on your path to better, brighter, clearer, healthier skin.

SKINCARE TIP #1: MOISTURIZE EVERY SINGLE DAY!

It is hard to emphasize enough the importance of using moisturizer on your skin every single time you wash it, and whenever else it is feeling dry. Especially during the winter weather, when skin is usually at its driest, moisturizing is key to good skin. You might even want to upgrade to a thicker moisturizer once the cold and dry weather sets in. And there is no need to spend lots of green to get a good moisturizer: drugstore brands like Oil of Olay and Eucerin both give fantastic value for your dollar.

SKINCARE TIP #2: GET YOUR BEAUTY REST

You probably already know that you should be getting more sleep but you are not doing very much to make that happen. There is always, after all, a reason to stay up a little bit later - a television show, another chapter in your novel, or a fun time with an old friend. But not getting enough sleep will leave your skin looking haggard, and excessive yawning has been known to lead to puffiness and swelling. So hit the hay and come out on top!

SKINCARE TIP #3: WASH YOUR FACE RIGHT

In the winter you need to adjust your skincare regimen to match the climate. That means you need to put away anything that scrubs your face too harshly and replace it with a gentle cleanser. Use an exfoliation tool like a Clarasonic instead. And be sure that when you dry your face after washing it that you are using a clean, fresh towel. Finally, as stated above, when you finish - moisturize!

SKINCARE TIP #4: DRINK MORE WATER

Increasing your water intake will do wonders for your health on a number of fronts, including your skin. Make sure you drink at least eight full glasses of water every day, and try to drink more than that if you can. Water keeps your skin hydrated, making it less likely to dry out and flake. Substitute your diet sodas with water and watch your skin improve!

SKINCARE TIP #5: DON'T FORGET TO PUT ON YOUR SUNSCREEN

Don't think that just because it's winter your skin is not susceptible to sun damage. You need to apply SPF every single day, and it needs to be at least SPF 30. The sun is dangerous, so be sure you are protecting yourself. Your skin will thank you.
