Everyone wants to have a great smile and for a beautiful smile you need to take care of your teeth. Proper oral hygiene is very important as it not only keeps your teeth white and shiny for many years, but also prevents various diseases that can harm your overall health. So, how can you keep your teeth perfectly alright for as many years as you want? Here are some great suggestions.
Brush daily: One of the basic things you must do to take care of your teeth is brushing. Position the brush at 45 degree angle while cleaning the teeth. The movement of the brush should be back and forth, up and down. Don’t put too much pressure as it can hurt your gum. It is important to brush twice every day, at the morning and before going to bed at night. Thoroughly rinse your mouth using water after brushing the teeth.
Flossing is essential: Brushing your teeth and gargling with mouthwash is not enough because there are some places in your mouth that brush can’t reach. Flossing allows you to remove food particles from the place between your teeth. Flossing should be done at least once in a day.
Clean your tongue: You can either use the backside of brush head or buy a tongue scraper to clean the tongue plaque. One of the primary reasons of bad breath is tongue plaque and if the bacteria on the tongue are not cleaned regularly, it can lead to tooth decay.
Eat intelligently: There are some food items that help you clean your teeth naturally. For example, apple and popcorn are really good for your dental health. Try to eat these items after or at the end of a meal to remove the food particles deposited in different corners of your mouth.
Make apple your friend: Here is a secret tip for you that not many people know. Apple cider vinegar is very good for dental health, and if you regularly gargle using apple cider vinegar, then it will remove stains, make your teeth white and destroy bacteria in your mouth.
Avoid tobacco: Stop smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco today as this harmful element not only damages your teeth, but your health as well. Tobacco weakens the roots of teeth and also can cause oral cancer.
Use baking soda: Do you want shining, white teeth? Then baking powder is your elixir to get what you desire. You should brush your teeth using baking soda once in a week. Use it just like normal toothpaste. However, never consume the baking soda. Spit it out when you are done cleaning.
Replace your toothbrush: It is important to change your toothbrush after every 2-3 months because when you clean your mouth using a toothbrush, it collects bacteria and no matter how dedicatedly you wash it, it will be a harvesting place for bacteria after a couple of months. So, if you keep using the same brush for several months, you will simply transfer bacteria in your mouth every day.
Use mouthwash: Mouthwash helps you kill bacteria quickly and also prevent bad breath problems. However, not all mouthwashes are good. You need to consult a doctor before using a mouthwash.
Visit a dentist: After all, only a professional can tell you the true condition of your teeth. So, you must take an appointment of a dentist after every six months. Each of us face different dental problems and only a doctor can guide you properly.
