Post-breakup

I have posted about my breakup on this site before - basically, I was dating someone for almost two and a half years and he dumped me sort of out of the blue. At this point, I have gone to therapy and I understand why we were so wrong for each other and I'm glad that it happened. I think it would've had to end eventually no matter what happened just because of who we are as people as certain habits we don't share. My problem now is trying to surmount being rejected. Last night, I went to a bar and he was there. I decided to sit with my friends at a booth somewhat out of the way so as not to have to be looking at him etc. There were two girls in the only other booth by us. And he came over, sat down with them and started hitting on them for the rest of the night. He was directly in my eye line and only about 3 feet away from me - I highly doubt he didn't know I could see what he was doing. It felt spiteful and I don't understand why he's doing this - is he insecure? Does he really just not know I exist? Does he want me to be jealous? He's the one who broke up with me so I don't understand what he expects to get out of acting that way. It didn't make me jealous, and I couldn't care less if he hooks up with one, two, five hundred other girls - I mostly feel frustrated and sad that he seems like an asshole now and I gave him so much of my time. What is going on??

I just have a hard time imagining someone actually being that immature. I forgot to mention that this is his first ever break up (even though we are on our way to 30) - do you think that could have something to do with it?

Hi, From being with you he was clearly trying to stir something inside you like jealousy, maybe to even get a reaction and show you he can still get with a girl and he's moving on. Let him :). Sounds like it is insecurity and it's also immaturity like you say. if it's a first break up then yep I think this does have something to do with it.
