Stray cats

So, where i live there's a stray cat that has 3 or 4 kittens. my mom is trying to bring them in when we already have 6 cats of our own. she did this a few months ago, they had fleas, worms, and who knows what else. but those were just kittens, this is a full grown cat and her babies. my mom won't leave it alone and I've told her not to bring them in but she plans to do it anyways. any advice? i really don't want them in the house or making my cat sick. I'm going away on a trip next month so i won't be around and I'm scared she'll do it while I'm gone. I don't think the animal control place here will take them and if they don't she'll try to bring them in.

I know your mom is trying to help, but bringing in kittens or cats that might be sick will only bring harm to your cat. I rescued two kittens and brought them into my home (we also have 6 indoor cats) even though they had fleas. Well, the fleas spread to all our cats and then they developed worms and all had to be treated. If you can find a no-kill shelter to take the mama and babies that would be great.
