I am a 27 year old female and I was broken up with 6 months ago. Since that time, I haven't been truly interested in any other guy and no guy has been interested in me. I haven't been asked on any dates or hooked up with anyone. I feel like I have a lot to give in life and in love and like I am ready to be in a serious and loving relationship. I am happy with who I am and I feel like for the first time in my life I actually know who that is and I love the person I have become. I just need help with this nagging feeling of loneliness. I am ready to hold someone's hand in the grocery store, fall asleep on the phone with them, all those wonderful things that come with love and compassion for someone else. And lately I have been bombarded with social media posts of people my age or younger getting married, getting engaged, being perfectly wonderfully happy with their perfect partner of 3 years who will undoubtedly soon propose. This feeling of loneliness with no prospects and a busy lifestyle is starting to get to me. Is this normal? Am I too old to be in this situation? Has anyone else experienced this and have any idea how long it will take to subside? Any advice on how to get rid of these aching feelings of loneliness would be so appreciated.

Hi I know how you must be feeling. Im happy you are improving yourself and realizing who you are. The point is dont compare yourself with your friend because everyone gets their time. You see them getting married and in love and all ..... wait a few more years and you will see divorces and child custody battles etc. What I want to say is that dont try to rush into Love. Im not saying stop looking for Love , I mean stop getting desperate for it. When I got really lonely I took to guitar for two reasons . The first that it became my close friend. The second it helps in wooing the Girls ;) Sometimes still I get lonely so I just hug my pillow tightly and imagine if it were my Love. And this helps a lot. So the main thing I want to say is that build up yourself for your future partner. For example If you want him to be a travelling type guy who wants to go places ...... the travel yourself a bit so you too have interesting stories to tell. You could learn something that helps to keep your man wooed (Like Im learning Guitar for my Girl). This was a long and confused post :P But this was my experience. So answers to your questions According to me it is normal for people of this age. No youre not too old ( My uncle got married at 34 and they are the best couple in the family) I have experienced this and it lessens a bit after 3 weeks ( Because habits are formed in 21 days ) Getting rid of these feelings : For me its either hugging my pillow , hugging my parents or my guitar. Hugs Take Care
