Marriage and sleepovers?

Default profile image
I've been married for just over a year now. My wife just met a new female friend that she really enjoys spending time with. My question, is it normal for my wife to want to sleep over at her house about 1 night a week? I understand it if she is drinking and doesn't want to drive home, but other than that I don't see any reason she can't go over there and hang out, then come home. Now she's also planning a trip out of state with this same friend. Keep in mind, her uncle just passed away whom she was very close with. Could this be some sort of grieving process for her?

Your best bet is to talk to your wife and discuss your issue with her because she's the only one who can give you answers. Staying overnight at a friends house on a weekly basis is a bit suss and her circumstances concerning her uncle may well be contributing to her behavior. She needs to realize that she has you as a husband to confide in. It's all OK to have friends, as long as your marriage doesn't suffer.

Thank you for your response. I should have said this before, the friend she's been staying with lost her mom about a year ago. So maybe her friend can provide her with some sort of understanding and support that I'm not able to. I don't know if I should talk to her about it now, or wait to see if the problem slowly goes away as the hurt of losing her uncle passes. I have no problem with her wanting a girls night and staying there once in awhile. But weekly seems a little odd to me.
