It's eating me up

My sons dad and I were together and very happy until I got PPD and completely pushed him away. He fought hard to keep us together. Eventually he met someone and moved on. I was still in love with him so expressed that to him and he rejected me. A few months later his new girl finished with him and after a few weeks he told me he was still in love with me and wanted to try again. We are back together and I really love him. But I can't get over the fact that had she not finished with him he would not be here. So I feel like second choice. Any thoughts?

Hi, there you should concentrate on your present and forget everything about the past. Some things are in the past for reason. If you two are happy, enjoy and leave bad stuff behind you. You are not a second choice . If he wasn't with that lady he would n know that you re right for him. He knows that now and that s way he s with you. Be happy and enjoy your life. Don t bother about things that happened.

Life can certainly throw us a lot of curves! I commend you for your willingness to try to make things work with you and your son’s dad. I’m sure that it hurt when this man rejected you. None of us wants to feel like we are worthless to another person, especially someone we love. Even though I’ve been with my husband 39 years I still value his acceptance of me and feel hurt when he seems to put me on the back burner. Your son’s father may be leery of your feelings. He also remembers your rejection of him. Try just taking one day at a time. Be thankful every morning that you are still together. Instead of focusing on the past, live in today and in hope for your future together.
