Why is my boyfriend ignoring me?

I have been dating this guy(he is 20 I'm 16) since the start of January this year and I last saw him on February 15th which means it has been over a month since I last saw him. It has been harder and harder to make conversation with him and most of the time he will read the message and not respond. I don't understand what I have done wrong. He would normally plan us meeting or at least start the conversation but he stopped trying so I tried to arrange meeting up with him and again, nothing. I am aware that he has started his summer job which makes him very tired however he doesn't even message me on his days off. I've tried calling him but no one picks up. My friends say he just does want me to be clingy but I'm not a clingy person (as I mentioned earlier he starts the conversation if he wants us to meet not me) I've waited a month but frankly my patience has run thin. Not only am I becoming inpatient and frustrated but I'm starting to doubt that I'm a good enough girlfriend if he has the want to contact me so easily and this makes me extremely unhappy although I know I shouldn't be. I don't want to be weak and instantly go running back to him the minute he talks to me like a tame dog because that would feel like I'm being used. I don't know what to do or what is going on. I don't know weather I should persist to try and talk to him or ignore him. I don't know if he is cheating on me or just lost interest. I don't know if he maybe even wants to break up with me but don't want to hurt me, or is this a big misunderstanding. Am I overacting? Please help as I am at a loss of what to do and it is becoming too much emotionally to keep smiling everyday like I'm not hurting. X

Regardless of age, guys always find time for what and who they want. If he's not initiating contact, he is hoping the relationship fades out without a messy breakup. Fact is he could go to jail. On top of that, he's showing you he's not interested in continuing the relationship. You deserve better.
