Is a long break harmful for a relationship?

Default profile image
So I've been dating this guy for over a year now and I really think I love him, but he had to go overseas for work and I have been unable to contact him. This however is not the problem as I knew I would not be able to talk to him during this trip. My problem is that I am worried about the long term affects this will have on our relationship. The work trip is 6 weeks long, and he has already been there for about a month. I miss him alot and I can't wait for him to return but there's a part of me that is worried he doesn't feel the same. Do you think my worries are reality or am I just being paranoid??

It is always healthy to be worried about the one you love. The fact that it's a work trip may make him not feel the same. He is focused on work. I'm sure when he gets back he will be so happy to see you. When my partner isn't around for an extended amount of time, i have a box of things he gave me. Letters, necklaces, stuffed animals, rings, silly little drawing etc.. it makes me happy and feel like he's thinking of me. Another way to help with the separation is writing letter to him. How you feel, and what you're thinking about him. Give them to him when he gets back. I understand how it feels to be separated from someone you love. I wish you the best and hopefully the day's will fly by.
