Selfish or not?

My boyfriend and I had plans for him to come over the day of my graduation and have lunch with my family and then stay the night. I invited his mother as well. For a couple weeks now, he’s been driving his mothers car since his truck has a nail in it’s tire. I’ve constantly reminded him to get it fixed but he hasn’t seemed to find the time. He then tells me that he has to leave early from lunch to pick his mother up and then leave my graduation right after to drop his mom off and he won’t be able to stay the night. I feel upset and disappointed because these were plans and I want to enjoy this ‘special occasion’ especially with him. Am I wrong for being upset about this?
