Christmas guilt

Myself and my partner are living together and this Christmas we were invited by both sets of parents for Christmas Day. Last year we saw his mum and dad for the day. He put it on me to make the decisions. I thought we should go to my family as we went to his last year but I didn’t want to disappoint him as I know he wants to see his young nephews for the day (they were elsewhere last year). Now I am feeling incredibly guilty as my parents will be alone just the two of them. They are very easygoing and say they are happy with anything. We should be able to go and see them after lunch and I will see them on Boxing Day along with my brother and sister in law but can’t help the feeling of guilt, am I overthinking?

The easiest solution i have found for this, is to take turns. Visit one family on Christmas one year, then the other family the next. Of course you'll still see them both each year. Just take turns with which family gets Christmas day.
