How do I get people to take me seriously...

i don't think anyone takes me seriously. i act a bit mature for my age but that's because i haven't gotten to live a "real" childhood. i'm pretty sure everyone think i'm always lying or that i'm just a little kid in a teenager's body and i just hate it so much. how do i get my friends, bf, and family to stop thinking of me like this?

Well... Sometimes i feel the same way..so nobody took me seriously when I was in school, sometimes my classmates used to make fun of me...i was a below average student.. but i think i never did anything wrong in my life...well it all got changed when i get a good job...so now im earning better than most of my classmates...and now people who never even talked to me in school...are now contacting me for job reference or for career guidance...so you just need to be more successful and show them that you're better than them..just stop caring about what they think about you or whether they are taking you seriously or not..just stop taking them seriously and focus on yourself...

JUSTANOPAN, As I'm reading your post I see you value what others think of you. This can be a thing, but only when you make sure that what other people think of you does not dictate every decision you make, and how you feel about yourself. There will ALWAYS be people in this world who will doubt you, think badly of you, act cold towards you, etc. Ironically, most of the time these are also people who rely too much on what other's think of them. The post before mine mentions focusing on yourself and doing what you think is right. If you think you need to be more mature then do it! But remember also that the definition of true maturity is being able to accept that people will not always take you seriously, and go out and kick ass anyway. Don't stop till you are committed to proving them wrong, then I think you'll find that people will start to take you more seriously
