Am I overreacting?

Would you allow your partner to take a 2 week break from you and the relationship with no communication between you two? I feel slighted, sad, angry, and hurt that they told me they want a break because they have alot going on in their lives. Well I do too, and I should be included. I'm not running away because my life is chaotic and messy , I feel like they shouldn't either. am I overreacting? Should i break up with them?

Hi, I agree, “Having a lot going on” doesn’t sound like a reason to go on a break, it’s not really specific enough or saying what the real issue is. You’re left feeling the way you are which isn’t a nice position to leave you in! Maybe you’re partners life has got very messy and chaotic for whatever reason or they’re depressed and he/she can’t handle what’s going on and has withdrawn. Maybe they need professional help? I’d take the two weeks to decide what you would like to do. And not let it go over the 2 weeks.

It's very inconsiderate of your partner. The fact that they want to get away at all, is a big red flag that would make me wonder if the relationship is even worth saving. I would also be wondering if they were going to be cheating over those 2 weeks.
