My mom went off on me this morning, she was absolutely fine, absolutely fine, she was laying with me and we were talking. Then my grandma called asking if I wanted to go get lunch. So I said yes, all of a sudden my mom is like "Get up now you need to get ready" Over and over and She is not taking me for 2 hours!! I do have a class between then but all I have to do is put on a shirt and shorts.... She starts getting really frustrated (btw the class is online) and seems like she is getting really anxious. So I let her know that whenever her mom (my gma) calls, she seems to get irritated easily and also very anxious. (This has happened b4) She gets very very upset and I said it very nicely, but she starts to blame me for things that don't even make sense. I ask her what is the matter and why she seems upset, she gets much angrier then I tell her that she actually sounds crazy. A few moments ago you were fine, then your mom calls and now you literally sound crazy! She is yelling at me and telling me I'm being lazy. I'm literally not!!!! She is going off and I ask her how does she think this is going to help by getting so angry. Right now, she is still mad and I think she needs a therapist. Every time she walks by she makes it very apparent she is mad and acts like I just murdered her husband or something..... She seems extremely immature about this. Ugh someone help plz! Not to mention that she tried to make me feel bad and guilty, I didn't let her but still, it is very hurtful and I don't know what the heck was her trigger.

Sounds like a complicated situation. It also appears that this has been going on for a long time and that it has never really stopped. There are 2 ways to proceed that vary from what you have already done (talked to your mom about it). 1, you can talk to your grandma and see if she can shed any light on your mothers erratic behavior. 2, you can try and ignore the situation until you are able to move out on your own, and then you can keep your time with your grandma isolated from your mother.

Hi, It seems strange that things were fine then as soon as your grandma calls, and asks you to go for lunch, you mum goes from being relaxed to angry. Somethings triggered her. I’m wondering what your mums relationship like with your Grandma? If it’s not good then maybe this could explain her reaction. Give your mum a few days to calm down and then try and talk to her so you can understand.
