Deal breaker or not

Ok so this may be a compound question; Let’s begin: Would you accept your partner Marrying a “cousin” from another country to allow them to come to the US? Secondly, “cousin” to many Latin people (I am one myself; yet born in the US) just refers to a family friend that may have grown up with them, why do ppl do this. I don’t just name ppl as part of my family because they hung around a lot. I get friends that become family yet; it’s known they they are friends. So, would you be upset in this scenario?! If the roles were reversed would you do something like this?
