okay so . i'm fifteen and my boyfriend is seventeen, we met on twitter and have never met in person before. we started to sext a few days ago and it is consensual and i dont feel uncomfortable at all. and the age gap has never been a problem for us. but my friends keep warning me against talking to him because of said age gap, and though i am being careful, i do trust him. just wondering if sexting with him is legal ?? esp when he turns eighteen next year ??? there wont be any images shared im uncomfortable with that, but as of now its just texts and stuff . i really need some advice omg ðŸ˜
Your friends are right. This is too much of an age gap, you should look for someone your own age.
While sexting alone is not likely to be illegal (all states have differing laws), so long as no pictures are shared. If you guys ever met up, it would cause him legal problems after he turns 18.
Personally this is throwing up red flags for me. If a boy that is 2 grades above you in school, is interested in a girl 2 years younger, there is likely a bad reason. Most likely girls his own age are ignoring him, and that means something.
I think before you are posting here the red flags are beginning to show here. You say it is just sexting right now but sonewhere down the line it could lead to more. Sometimes things can go out of control when you don't mean them to. Yes it must be flattering at your age to have a 17 year old paying you attention but you got to wonder why he doesn't do that to girls his own age.
He probably sexts you for looks.
