Dream about a dentist

Hi. I'm wondering if you could help me interpret a dream. First, I would like to say that I am terrified of dentists. The last time I went to a dentist was when I was a kid. I had a very traumatic experience and didn't go back since. This is relevant to my dream.
I don't remember all the details, but I recall sitting in a dentist's chair, and the dentist is talking to me. He was pleasant and gentle, telling me that my wisdom tooth had to be removed. I don't remember any other details, just sitting in the chair. The room was dark, with very little light, but I wasn't afraid. I find this dream to be quite unusual. If I recall more details I will post them. I haven't the foggiest idea what this dream could mean.
Maybe your subconscious is finally coming to terms with this fear of dentists.
Maybe it's time to go back to the dentist? I think modern philosophy is that dreams don't mean that much, really.
I have had a wisdom tooth removed. the dentist gave me a scrip for Valium to take an hour or so beforehand, so my boyfriend had to transport me to and home. It did go smoothly, it wasn't particularly painful (a wisdom tooth was removed, I won't say I didn't feel *anything* after the Novocain wore off)
Best wishes.
