Buying a car was a mistake

Recently, we purchased a car. We purchased a car because we don't want to remain dependent on taxis to reach a destination and also the hassle of finding a public transport gets eliminated. Owning a car means you can go anywhere you want which is far from your home whenever you want. Unfortunately, owning a car also comes with side effects like petrol expenses, maintainence and repairing and possibility of accidents. It also occupies a large space. I and my brother are very pathetic drivers. We have poor coordination, left-right judgement and struggle in various situations. We are either genetically bad at driving or maybe we have cognitive impairment. It is said that beginners should improve their skills by practising driving on their cars. We are trying to improve our driving skills on our own car but several times we get some scratches and dent in our car. We struggle at narrow roads. Our money will get waste on things like dents and scratches. We both don't deserve to drive car again. I am planning to stop learning driving because I am not capable of driving. 3 months back, my brother learnt under a driving instructor for 10 days. 11 days ago we bought a car. He is still struggling to drive properly. Since last 6 days, I am learning to drive under a driving instructor. I still make callous mistake and keep on making mistakes again and again and again. Driving is soo difficult for us. I feel not owning a car is great but it comes with a lot of disadvantages such as – 1. Struggling to find a public transport to reach a destination 2. It will take a lot of time to wait for public transport 3. It will cost you a lot of money if you use taxi services

What we believe, what we have believed for a long time creates paths in the mind that can work against other paths of belief from being created. Imagine a garden maze. Through DNA and experience the mind creates a garden maze of belief that supports life flowing in some ways and not others. You didn't drive, you're not excited about driving. Excitement joy and peace are emotions that open paths in the mind. Instead you are nervous and tentative, so you are unable to create new paths of belief You can realize the science of the mind and decide that you want to create paths believing I CAN!! I WANT TO!! (like Thomas the train) Or you can go back to being a passenger. DO NOT THINK OF YOURSELF AS QUITING. We should all live comfortably, and MOST IMPORTANLY SAFELY. I have LOVED driving since I was 16 years old. I have been a great driver. But I have zero interest in it now. EXPERIENCES have created new belief that doesn't allow me to feel comfortable driving. You can have experiences that build belief that driving is wonderful. Even I can create experiences that build belief that it is wonderful again. If I wanted to. Lets look at the example of WRITING. Lets say you sit down to write a story. You write it and it is awesome. You had a great time writing it and you love rereading it. You had a great experience. You will be excited to do it again. What if you sat struggling with ideas unable to write anything that you could be proud of? That would be a bad experience, not one that you will want to repeat. Another example. This is a reality on repeat in my world. The first day that I 'hit the gym' after not working out for a long time is always an experience that I make sure is easy and fun so that it gets me in gear to want to do it again and again. Its almost as if we need to baby our brains, lead it to believe what we want and need it to believe so that we can do what we want and need to do...HAPPILY, FREELY, PEACEFULLY.....SUCCESSFULLY. We have very special relationships with ourselves....our conscience... JIMINY CRICKET... Or we don't. Understanding the psychology of our minds helps us have WONDERFUL relationships with ourselves and successful lives. Not to get into a confusing area here but.... a part of me is thinking about the subject of INTUITION. Not wanting to drive might not just be the conditioning training of your past patterns of choices... it could be your intuition, God knowing something you don't...'steering' you away from making a big mistake. Are you good and true honest people? If so, God is holding you trying to tell you what you need to know. Please excuse the reference to religion if you are not religious. Everyone has a different idea of who God IS, to me, God is TRUTH. The combined energy of truth and love.

My main concern is that we both will keep on damaging our car until we become a proper car driver. We are still in beginner phase. If we keep on damaging our cars during practice, it will cost us a huge sum of money. We don't want our money to leak like that. Owning a car comes with a lot of consequences. I wish I could lead a life where I don't need a car to survive. It becomes difficult to live without a car if things like office, markets, hospitals, source of public transport, pharmacy store and other important destinations are away from home.

Then.....I suggest that you wait until you have learned the skill and are not longer making dents...and get a package deal on ALL of the repairs at once.

It will cost me a lot of money if we keep on wrecking my car again and again. I think I have made a huge blunder during my childhood and teenage years. Now I am 25. I have never rode a bicycle since the age of 10-11. Not having any experience of riding a motorbike hindered my coordination. If we again keep on making mistakes during driving, we may also damage somebody else vehicle or kill a pedestrian. Parking, steering and maneuvering is the most toughest part for us. Maybe we are not so mentally developed like others. I see poor and uneducated youths (younger than me) driving so perfectly.

Idea! (Hi!) Ask around your social circle and neighbourhood, if they know of anyone they'd trust with their own car who might like to do part-time chauffeuring for you? Some retired but bored, fairly elderly gentleman who'd appreciate some beer money, for example. (Obviously, you pay for him to put petrol in it, and whenever it needs any attention, and other such expenses such as Road Tax and car-parking tarrifs). Maybe you/your parents and they could come to some sort of arrangement whereby you or another family member is the owner and gentleman (or lady?) is named as the Second Driver (if they've a good driving history, this could reduce your annual car insurance premium, considerably), and either you cash-pay them and/or they get private use of your car, as a weekly routine or by arrangement, whenever you don't need it? Howzat? :)

PS: Retired ladies and gentleman are known to take up chauffeuring people around, even unpaid (charitable community services), like taking the very elderly to and from hospital appointments, trips to the supermarket, that sort of thing... simply because they're not ready to 'curl up and die yet', still got a lot of life in them and love to give. I think this could be a goer, personally.
