Military or alternate pathway for job?

Default profile image
I have a job that I would really like to pursue, but the easiest and most likely way to get the job is to join the military first (Specificqlly Navy). I could, of course, try and avoid the military and spend all my time in colleges, but that would take much more time. I've heard stories about how bad military service can be, but that's not the main problem. I'm confident that I will succeed. It feels a bit dumb now that I write it out, but I really don't want to cut my hair. The navy requires absurdly short hair, but I've grown attached to mine being long. I feel like I just need someone to tell me to just go for it. I know I'll get over the hair in very little time, but i just can't bring myself to do it. Any advice for or against it is appreciated.

One door will close & the next will open - all you have to do is walk through it, with or without your hair. When we put our issues 'on paper', we empty our head & quite often, the answers just scream at us..all we have to be is cluey enough to see them & a lot of us miss them the first time around. You reckon you have a two choices but you really only have one & it'll be your gut which will tell you which one to take after two will have morphed into one. A coupler months down the track, you'll stop & think, what was it all about? & then you'll just continue on with living your new life. Good Luck.

I think that one day you there will be a sign and the answer to your question will be right in front of you. I also believe that writing your thoughts down on paper can allow you to really analyze both of your options. However, I do think that serving in the military is such an amazing opportunity and the opportunity would be one in a lifetime. If the real reason holding you back is your hair, just know that everyone else will be in the same position and your hair grows backs. Additionally, once your decision is made, you will enjoy it and make the most of it. You will enjoy both the military and college experience.
