I just need opinions

I'm sorry this is long but idk what to do about this guy we've bn involved for 6 months now, not straight cause for 2months he went across the country we've bn through shit but are good now, recently he has been seeming jealous about guys hitting on me, he kisses me infront his friends and in public he buys my food and stuff for me, he cut out a stencil of my name and put it in his room. He's even admitted that we keep coming back to each other. He's so sweet to me again and we just work together it feels so right with him, the reason I'm asking for opinions is because he has hurt me before. Before he went cross country he wanted to date me and he left and shit got bad. He told me I'm growing on him. But he won't date me he says its not that he doesn't want to he just wants to stay open. He always talks about wanting kids in like 2-3 yrs and stuff idk what the deal is I love him so much, nd he's told me he has before. What would you do in this siutation? Stick around? Or forget him? Does he really care and like me? Or is he just usuing me for sex, he's leaving again in a few months to go back cross country. Its gonna suck but he's left before and we came back to each other..
