Family disapproves of my boyfriend / long distance relationship

My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 months and have been in long distance relationship. Now I come from a strict Filipino family with high values. So I wasnt allowed to have a boyfriend so I kept it from them for 5 months. When they found out they were mad and so when they met him they automatically didnt like him simply because they don't "feel" him. They think I can do better, but to me he's my everything. But family is also so important to me and it pains me my family will never approve of him. What should I do? Do I stay with him and disappoint my family. Our break it off with him and make my family happy. Family means everything to me so I value their approval for the guy I love? Also this long distance can at times get so hard, is there any suggestions to keep our relationship strong?( p.s. we're not just some couple that met through Internet, we've been friends throughout high school and then when I moved away for college did we realize our feelings for each other.)

You should try to talk with your parents about him And tell them how much he means to you and if they can't respect your decision on who you date the they're not supportive parents. But if you really like this guy keep going for him.

i agree that u should talk with ur parents about it...if they still dont agree u should still go forward with the guy u like....they have to realize sooner or later that its your life not theirs. Trust me when i tell u to do what YOU want..if u always do what they want u wont be happy...live your life and keep seeing this guy and be happy with him :) best of luck to you

hi dani15 how old are you? i agree with IZYY and ANON if your 15 18yrs old you have to study first if you're 19-25yrs old you can go what anon suggestion and the guy can make your life better why not but if not think it for a hundred times i'm neil from pihilippines. good luck.. and its your decision to continue your relationship...

Hey IZZY 343, ANON, REEJNIEL. Thank you so much for your advice, I really appreciate it. I've already talked to my parents and they are 'trying' to be more supportive :) oh and I'm 19 years old. So far my relationship is still going strong and great. <3
