Nice guys finish last

I'm 18 and I've been talking to a girl for a while but she started dating a guy and I find it hard to deal with. We both like the same kind of music, books, movies, plays, etc. we talk about art, culture, politics, and religion and I love having someone I can be intellectual with. I know online this can sound boring or that I'm over sensitive, but I'm not, we actually have alot of fun when we hang out. I would have asked her out sooner but she's friends with my sister and I didn't want to make things wierd if she said no, so I decided to tell her during the concert we were going to this friday. Well I found out she's now dating this huge football player that graduated last year. I don't want to be mean but to say he's an idiot i an understatement. I just can't understand how she went for him instead of me, he's obviously better looking but it's not like I'm not fit or anything.... I just joined the marines. I guess we'll just be friends from now on.

wow thats a shocker. well what i think is that she does like you just that she didnt wana make things wierd either and this guy just happened to ask her 1st. stay her friend but let her know u think shes amazing and beautiful. live your life in the marines and keep your head hi, every time u come home make sure u make it a point to c her. shell come around. or is she still going to this concert with u friday? still tell her how u feel and if she doesnt feel the same atleast u r off to the marines. u will find some1 comming from a lady i hope this helps

Yes, we're still going to the concert together(and 4 hour drive up there) so I'll see how everything goes. I'm not mad that we're just friends but I wanted a relationship with someone that was so similar to me... and attractive at that. She was actually the person that pushed me (And supported me) the most to join the marines, her sister just finished training.
