Caught in my past

Well, like long time ago, i was 17 when i met this guy. We never really actually ''meet'' since he lived in a country far away from me. But if i say i love him, better to trust me because i really do. He's 9 years my senior. He said that he would never disappear but well, 3 years ago he left me. I never heard of him anymore. He's just disappear. Now, i've found a new guy. He's really kind but he's nothing close to the old guy. But i kind of like this new guy, and i'm sure he loves me very much. But there are times when i just think that i can't be with the new guy, because there are parts of my heart that still belong to the old guy. So please, anyone help me with this. What should i do? i don't want to hurt the new guy because i like him very much...

Well ! I'm in a similer situation where my gf won't let go of her past @ from exsperence it's not fair to him @ it causes that person to feel like nothing that he does can compare.if you still have those thought you having not gooten over your past @ should not move on until your feelings where gone

I know is should just forget about the past and move on while i have a chance. And i'm really scared that the new guy will find out about it, because i don't think that i'm ready to be left alone again. What did you do when you found out that your gf won't let go of her past? Did you still love her or simply forget about her and move on?
