He was super keen then dumped me

Hi I met a guy while I was in a bar on a city break in Denmark. He was English and in the RAF and there for work so we swapped numbers and he said he wanted to see me when we both got back to the UK we had a kiss only that night. I got back and he txt me about meeting up as he was only over an hours drive was from where I lived so we met. We had a great night and got on really well and I felt excited about seeing him again. He told me he had to go away with work for six weeks to Afghanistan but wanted to see me when he got back. He then left and was calling me everyday for six weeks spending hours on the phone each day and him texting me a lot. He was very full on saying he thought I was amazing and he was so happy to have met me and that he thought I was perfect for him etc etc. I had this for six weeks constant and then when he got back the first thing he did was come to see me. We spent the weekend together and got on well, still didn't sleep together as we both agreed we wanted to get to know each other. We kissed a lot and had a nice weekend although I noticed he was full on the first couple of days then starting to distant himself a little the last day. He said goodbye on the Monday and we planned he would come down the following weekend. That week in-between I noticed his texts to be a bit distant and short and sweet answers. We spoke on the phone and he was still planning to come down to see me again then the Friday afternoon he was coming I had a text saying sorry not going to make it. I tried to call him but he didn't pick up and I text him what's going on and he was just rude in his response so I left it. I just want to know what the hell happened! He wont give me an answer and the last text I got from him was 'whatever and goodbye'! How can he go from so full on to dumping me so horrible and suddenly!?

This guy goes to extremes: comes on too keenly and is suddenly horrible and dumps you. There is something wrong with his mind. He sounds bipolar.

Are you sure he was in Afghanistan - "spending hours on the phone" at such a distance sounds unrealistic and expensive. Something suggests he is a married man stationed in the UK who was hoping for a bit of infidelity.
