I left a job recently as the manager was treating staff terribly and i was happy with my decision , workwise as there was so much stress. too much in fact. However i was very puzzled as i worked with two women there who called themselves friends and yet at the soonest opportunity reported my work to my manager. We were all pushed to the limit and where not being given enough time to finish work to a good standard, with hardly any staff. I was finding it difficult and the other two were aswell. Their work was shoddy and not done properly but the boss seemed to just single me out for giving me a hard time. They walked around saying they could not be bothered about the work every night, moaning and groaning and one of them was even a supervisor. When i went on holiday i came back to the knowledge they had reported my work and also that i had said i could not be bothered. I had in fact said this ONCE, and only once. It was made obvious they had said something to my manager. Why would they be like this when they had done these things themselves and gone on to call themselves friends?. One of them i even got her the job there and that was all the thanks i got. Then when i left one even rang me and asked if i was ok and wanted to keep in touch with me?. I could not quite believe the cheek of this woman, the one i had got the job for. I wanted to know what other people think of this and am i wrong in saying that i think hey are two faced and want nothing more to do with them?. I reported my boss to his manager and not long after i heard that he has left the company now or taken his retirement which he kept threatening to do but never did, seeming to be enjoying making his staffs lives a misery. I just want to know other peoples opinion of this situation i was in thats all. Thank you.

It's crappy. There are a lot of jobs like it out there though. People who don't want to do work themselves try to make themselves look better than others by complaining about their work. It sounds like it's a good thing you got out of there. Keep trying to find something better and you will. Don't put up with crap like that and if they start reporting you and you don't like it. do it right back to them. It shouldn't be hard to do.

Yes its hard to trust anyone , thats why i do not really like getting too involved in friendships at work. keep it work friends and its easier to resolve ( if thats possible), when things go wrong. People just love stepping on other people just as they think they will get ahead this way. They are the silly ones.
