Boyfriend help! Did he lose interest?

First of all, I'm 19, and am a college sophomore. My boyfriend is 21(turning 22 soon) and he is also at the same college, but has only one more semester left. We have been officially dating a guy for almost 3 months. During the first month, everything was great. Then during summer, we went on a school trip together for 2weeks. We got along fine until the last night. We had a pretty big argument and it was all my fault. Long story short, it was a communication error and misunderstanding and i think it broke his trust for me. (i would love if anyone out there is willing to listen to the whole story...) We talked it out after, and I said my apologies multiple times, and he said he accepted my apology, so I thought it was okay. So now we're back home and another incident happened at the airport. I was sick and exhausted and just wanted to go home and rest, so i forgot to give him my plane ticket(our teacher put him in charge of collecting everyone's ticket so we could get a refund). I thought we would definitely see eachother soon, so I didn't go back to the airport and said i'll give it to him later. He had a week before the teacher was going to collect it anyway. I ended up not seeing him and gave the ticket to the teacher myself. I didnt hear from him in 3weeks because he said he wanted a break from people, since the trip was very stressful for him and everyone pissed him off. I wasn't clear on that and i was worrying why he wasnt replying to my messages or returning my calls, until he explained. But now the 3 weeks are up, and i know he's been hanging out with some friends. When I try to contact him now, he takes hours or days to reply, if he even replies at all! What's wrong? He tells me he's still really busy with his job and home life, and I understand that, but when I see he's been to the movies with an old friend or someone tells me he was eating with friends at a restaurant, I can't help but wonder why he can't make time for me. It's like he's pushing me out of his life. In a text, I told him I miss him and he replied with "i know i miss you too" and really? Because it doesn't show. He never makes an effort to contact me, whenever I contact him, he's busy or when we did talk for a bit, he was running errands with a friend and eventually dropped the convo without saying bye. When I asked him if he wanted to hang out last weekend, he didn't read or reply to my message until the next day, at night. And he didn't even say he wanted to hangout. He just said he had plans already because his best friend is back on the island visiting for summer. I understand that. but the fact that he didn't offer an alternative hangout day is what gets me worried. He doesnt even call me by my nicknames anymore!! I have been crying and depressed for the whole time since we came back and it's been more than a month. Also, I still haven't seen him face to face since we came back. He just doesn't offer a chance to see him! I'm so scared that he's over me. He didn't say anything about breaking up at all, but i'm feeling bad vibes from his behavior! right? i hope i'm wrong. Do you think he wants to break up, or...has he already broken up with me by using distance?? should i ask him about it? Yesterday, I sent him a message on fb asking "right now, what am i to you?" cuz i wanna know if he's still considers me his gf! but he hasnt replied yet and it says he read the message already. what do i do?
