Do people say the truth when drunk?

I'm in love with some guy I've known for many years and about 8 months ago we started hanging out and talking everyday. He would text me nonstop and call me before he went to work in between his breaks ands when he go out of work.. This one time he got drunk and confessed to me that after his ex had cheated on him he never felt anything for any girl until I came along. I believed him but sometimes he makes me think otherwise. He tells me that he is a player for life because he can't trust no girl. But he also mentioned that he really has feelings for me but that he doesn't trust me. He gets frustrated whenever I ask him if he really does have feelings or me so little by little he stopped texting me and he got so frustrated that we haven't talked in 2 weeks. I really don't wanna give up on him I really do feel like I love him and I just need advice! I don't know if I should try to make him trust me but what's the point if he might just be lying about his feelings. Does alcohol make people say the truth? Or what they really feel??

i'm in a similar boat as you are. main difference is the guy cheated on his girlfriend with me he tried to cover himself by saying it was a mistake, then he jumped to "being confused." we have a history of this kind of crap. i've been reading and it seems to me like alcohol is very debatable with being truthful. i feel like it does make people tell the truth if you know them well enough and recalled their past.
