My friend's boyfriend

I have a friend who's dating a guy that makes me very uncomfortable. I'm 42 years old. Way of high school. So I'm not jealous or immature or anything of that nature. Over the years I've come to understand that sometimes your friends like/date people that you are not fond of. I'm sure my girlfriend/partner has gotten on their nerves as well. But you act polite. And unless there's illegal activity or outright abuse or something you just deal with it. But my recent interaction with this guy was so unnerving that I didn't know what to do. He's an army vet and currently a cop. All he talked about was guns, his guns, his family's guns. He encouraged us all to get guns. But that's not the problem. He seemed really obsessed with violence and spent a lot of the evening describing some frightening scenarios about me being raped and murdered, among other things. He was coming at this from a "you need protection" standpoint but I was like whoa. My friend is head over heads for this guy. Talking about kids and marriage. I did the adult thing and spoke to her. I framed it as I was concerned about some of the things he said and I wanted to know what I was missing here. I was mentally preparing myself for her to be offended, upset but she listened. Assured me she was OK. Gave me some background to explain why he may say these things (i.e. army family). I believed her and was like, alright. I'll take you at your word for it. If you're happy I'm happy. We ended that conversation. Now she wants to talk to me again and my girlfriend as she's been 'thinking about what I said." I'm feeling slightly anxious about this. I felt that I was as diplomatic as possible when we spoke initially. I wanted her to talk and me to listen and not be judgmental or anything. But I have to say I'm now concerned. any advice as to how I might deal with this second conversation?
