My best friend has feelings for me

I found out recently that my best friend has feelings for me, and i don't know what to do, we've been friends for just over 2 years now. I've gone over what could happen if we did date, it could be perfect as we already know eachoher but if it doesn't go well and things end bad then I would loose a best friend, I don't know how I feel about him as I've only ever seen him as a friend but i think I could see him as more than a friend but I'm scared I'll loose my best friend, what should I do?

I would answer this from my point of view,don't tell him anything until you make sure that you love him. I had feelings for my female best friend, i tried to tell her that and we fell in love for a few days. I guess she was "not sure about her feelings" just like you.She asked me to stay best friends after we broke-up. I agreed but I was broken and I'm still hurt now even after a year.the only reason I agreed to stay friends is that I know that she is pure just like you and didn't mean to hurt me. you MAY not lose him as a best friend if you didn't love him after dating but even if this happened and you guys stayed friends he will be always sad and feeling bad about himself. you don't want that ! so i would say don't date him right no, give yourself a break to think if he is the guy you want or not , THEN and only then you can tell if you would date him or not , but just don't give him hope when you're not sure about it and then destroy all of his dreams. take things slowly and think well.
