Harassing boss

I am being harassed at work by a superior who once was my friend. I am constantly being yelled at and intimidated. I believe I do very well at my profession, completing tasks ahead of schedule and even taking on other employees responsibilities. Recently, I believe my boss has been fabricating lies about me, to make me do what he wants. Example, he constantly trolls my facebook to see what I do on my days off. I recently posted that I was annoyed by someone who stayed longer than they should. No names, places or any identifiers. He pulled me into his office and yelled at me for half an hour because he also knew the person he thought I was talking about. Other employees often break policy, doing things they shouldn't at work but nothing is ever said. I don't want to get him in trouble or leave my job but I'm miserable with this constant turmoil. Any suggestions will be considered.

omg that sounds shocking, has he a superior you can report this to? what he is doing is so out of order, how dare he look at your facebook? cant you block him? deep down i guess he likes you , people in life leave others alone if they dont like them, he sounds like he likes you a lot and didnt want to lose your friendship as you say he used to be a friend. Im not sure what to suggest, what do you do when he yells at you? you must not take this, i know it is easier said than done, but the sooner you stand up to him the sooner he will back away. please let me know how you get on x

Thanks Simmingforever. I actually stood up to him yesterday and told him if it wasn't at work or related, it wasn't any concern of his. He was in shock and kept repeating himself. I kind of felt bad for him but I hate to be yelled at. I've been an adult for sometime now and don't believe that adults respond well to yelling. As for talking to his superior, I have considered it and this was his last chance before I do. Thanks again for the advise.
