I may be falling in love with my best friend and I don't know what to do

I am a seventeen year old male from England living with my mother after my father left at an early age. I live in a household of steady income and study a levels at college. I have never had a girlfriend or been close to having one, I have only had sex once before to a stranger on a one night stand and I generally consider myself to be clueless when it come to the opposite sex. I've know this female (A-also seventeen) over six years now however I only became best friends with her slightly over a year ago. I always thought she was beautiful but never had feelings for her other than feelings of friendship until around two months ago when she came over to my house to watch movies and chill out. We ended up getting rather drunk and somehow started kissing. It all lead to her giving me oral sex. Usually one would feel strange in a situation like this with a friend, especially a friend as close as she was to me but it for some reason didn't. It felt so right. Additionally, this was the first time she had done anything of a sexual nature, it wasn't “like her”. She had to leave soon afterwards and that was that. Afterwards things were exactly the same as they were, there was no awkwardness and we remained as close as ever, maybe even closer, I continued to see her all the time and we continued to go to each others houses however there was this strange new feeling inside towards her that I couldn't explain, something I had never truly felt before. This feeling grew and grew until I had to tell someone and so two weeks following the incident I told another one of my female best friends (B-who happens to be good friends with A) everything about that night and my new found feelings towards A. I tend to tell my female friends more about my feelings as they are much better listeners than my male friends who aren't as secretly sensitive as I would say I am. Another two weeks past and A and B went out for a girls dinner with other friends. They both had a few to drink which lead to A asking B if she knew what had happened between her and me when I came up in conversation. B said yes and told A that she thought maybe I liked her. To this A said “I don't want him to try too hard but I don't want him not to try”. Fast forward approximately three weeks later, it was a Saturday night and A had invited me and a few friends over for drinks at her house. After everyone else had to leave me and her went into her room and watched TV. We ended up kissing again and I told her that I liked her. She then told me that she has never had feelings for anyone ever, including me. I asked her if I should get over her but she never really gave a straight answer. After telling me this we continued to kiss and she ended up giving me oral sex again, the second time she had done anything with anyone (the other time with me being the first). That was three days ago now and I have since slipped into a state of complete hopelessness. This week I've been having difficulties sleeping, I've been feeling constantly tired, I’m loosing interest in the things I like doing and basically life just doesn't seem worth living any more. I felt depressed about the situation beforehand in fear she didn't like me the way I do but now she has told me it has grown to be much worse. I have no idea what to do and I feel as if I slipping deeper and deeper and now I cannot go a second without thinking of her. I think I'm falling in love and I don't know what to do.

Dear OASISLEDZEP, I think "A" likes you very much but you are both very young and it is easy to get emotional feelings confused. If you think you really like her get her attention by dating someone she knows. Date, Date and Date some more. You will have fun, meet new people and there will be no time for depression. Depression is another word for inactivity and inactivity will make you depressed. Get moving, Get involved and Be interested. You want to create a buzz within your social circle that you are a great date and a lot of fun. If you want "A" avoid sexual contact on these dates. "A" will come around or you just might find that you have met someone even better. Do not confuse a sexual connection with a love connection, they are quite different. Good Luck.
