My husband won't work

When my husband and I got married he had steady work since he was 14. About a year after ha started job hopping, with lists of spaces in between. I used to make good money but I became disabled with a work injury so I am on SSDI. He seems to think since I'm not working neither should he. He can burn the gas to go to a friends house but when it's time to go looking for work, there isn't any left. I don't believe in divorce. I'm also worried that i would have to pay spousal support. How do I motivate him? What should I do?

Separate! You do not have to divorce but, find a place to go or kick him out. Once he does not have someone to take care of house and home he will certainly have motivation to get to work. If that fails then you are only one step away from divorce and you will NEVER have to pay him if you are on disability. GOOD LUCK!

Have you tried laying down the law to him? Give him a chance to respond to your threats before you do anything about it. But if he still won't find work, then you may have to separate from him for a while to see if the shock of losing you brings him around.
