Hi, I've been seeing someone for a number of months. I really like her and think she liked me too. Things were going great. She had mentioned that in the past she had suffered from depression (as I have). Since christmas, she seems to have had a bad episode of the depression, which is ongoing. She has pushed me away, even though I've tried to help her. As I said, I've had this and just wanted to help her, or at least be there for her. We spoke about her pushing me away, as I didn't know where I stood. She said she couldn't be in a relationship now, as she couldn't give to a relationship in her condition. She likes me lot but doesn't want to hurt me. So we agreed to be friends as that is what she wanted. At this point, she seemed to have severe depression and I was concerned for her life. I even offered to pay for her flight back to Brazil (she's Brazilian), as I felt maybe she needed to be with her family. Anyway, its a few weeks later now and we have spent time together, as friends. I find this difficult sometimes as I have feelings for her. Her form is up and down, a bit of a rollercoaster. The trouble is I feel I'm on this rollercoaster too and I'm starting to find it difficult. I'm hoping we can get back together and find myself thinking of her a lot. I want to help her and be there for her, but should I pull away from this a bit for my own sake? Thanks

Hey there, I also suffer from anxiety and depression disorder and I now what's she's going through. Yes it hard to deal with sometimes but yes maybe a little space is good, be there for her as a friendike you have been and if it is ment to be she'll come around and you will be the one there. It's hard I have big problems with depression to and it's not fun and can seem like a roller coaster like you had said, it'll all work out I'm sure, just be there for her as a friend for now and let the realationship develope at its own pace.

Dear FOLOFOA, You are playing the knight in shining armor for your damsel in distress. Unfortunately, she is not into you to be pulling away in her distress. If you go around saving damsels in distress, you will end up with a damsel in distress. The best thing to do is to walk away and find someone who is into you. You are a nice guy, you deserve better. Thanks to all for their advise. I guess it's pretty clear what I should do. Thanks again.
