Emigrating

My 3 children ( with partners and grandchildren )have now all emigrated to australia - they expected me to follow but at 56 I decided it wasn't for me - lots of form filling and expense. I am also remarried and my husband did not want to go. There are a lot of hoops to jump through before you are granted a visa and it is very costly. Since I told my children 3 months ago - they have chosen not to speak to me. What can I do to make them understand ?
