Busy for a while quote...

Hi, So I have a question and scenario to pose for all of you. You're spending time with your friend. As you get ready to part ways, he tells you that he's going to be pretty busy the next couple of weeks, so is unsure if he'll be able to hang out. What is your reaction or responce to this? Just to be clear, I didnt feel like I was being brushed away. Actually, I see this friend regularly, so the fact that hes giving me a, lets call it, 'heads up' as to our hanging time, isnt too strange. But heres is my question, whats the point of even making that statement? I mean, some people see their close friends regularly, sometimes without making plans ahead of time. Hanging out just happends. I dont think Ive ever felt the need to tell a friend that Ill be busy for a while - unless of course, I didnt want to be bothered by them. But even then, they call you and you say, sorry I cant now, next time. Then again, thats just my view. But again, what purpose does it serve to mention your upcoming availabilities? Im not trying to judge. I guess as I get older, I dont get it when people have to mention how busy theyre going to be. Arent we all?

James, it's called respect when a friend gives you a heads up as to why/when they can't hang out. It demonstrates what sort of person they are...simply put, this person values your friendship enough to tell you.

Some people go by elaborate planning. I guess your friend is like that. He also respects other peoples time and feels they shouldn't have to forego their plans expecting him and then last minute finding out he can't make it.
