New relationship - big age difference

Hi, I'm looking for some insight regarding my relationship. I'm a 65-year-old male, separated less than a year ago, and started a relationship with a friend who just turned 80. We have a lot in common and she's a spry gal, with a joie-de-vivre that brightens up every room she enters. Our sex is, in spite of some 'senior' problems, quite spectacular, for both of us. My concern is with the big age difference, primarily. It keeps 'bothering' me, and i wish i could get over that, deal with it. I'm constantly trying to justify staying or leaving and i need some help to guide my confused thinking. Any thoughts?

If you are happy, why do you feel you should leave? If your mind is suggesting that you leave there would be something its telling you, other than age difference, isn't it?

That's adorable! Ok think about it this way, you're more than halfway through life. So live on brotha! Do what you want, fall in love all over again even if it means with somebody 15 yrs older than you. Live, laugh, love, enjoy life. Good luck.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, I should be looking at the bright side, but have been stuck on "what will the kids think", or "what will my friends think", while it matters nothing what anyone else thinks.These few remarks have made me realize how lucky I am, or we both are, to find a "soul mate" so late in life. Will it last? Heaven knows. The honeymoon can't last forever, but I'm intent on making the best of it.

It's beautiful how love can bring two people together regardless of age. I think the whole age gap shouldn't matter. As long as you feel the strong bond and love eachother with all your heart thats all that should matter. Be happy and enjoy each others company.
