Not at home in my own home

Hi, I was wondering about my emotional state at home. Whenever I come home, after being on a 5-day trip to Dublin, I feel very miserable at home. I don't feel happy and I have no motivation whatsoever to do anything. School also brings me a lot of stress, so I think that's probably one thing making me feel this way. But when I was in Dublin, I wanted to be home every single day, now that I'm finally here. I can't seem to think of being anywhere else, making me feel so much better. It may sound clingy, but also when my boyfriend's around, I don't have these feelings anymore. No stress, and at his place I feel so much better. But I want to feel at home in my own house, and have the motivation to do my work at home. How can I change this and what would be the reason I feel this way? :(

@Sammy Thankyou, I am living with my family, so it would be quite hard for me to do an entire room makeover :p I've got quite some furniture that's hard to move in here. I also somehow don't feel like my hobby's because I feel like I'm getting worse every time I feel a bit down. Thank you for your help though, I might think about a way to change up my room :)

That's very odd. It sounds like you had a case of homesickness when you were in dublin and you came back to have this weird effect? Did anything change while you were gone? Maybe you just got used to being in dublin that once you got back all you wanted to do was mope around. Perhaps just feeling lazy or bored? Since when your boyfriend is around your more stimulated and interested, so that's probably why you don't feel it when your boyfriend is around. Maybe add some variety to life or moreso your house? Take up a new hobby, add some new decor to your room, do something new i.e a new activity you've never done before, may that be making notes for school in some creative way or drawing or something, play a game. I find environmental queues are pretty important when it comes to motivation and work. When working from within your room you feel more relaxed, it's the place you sleep therefore you wanna just be lazy, naturally making you unmotivated. To fix this you could get something that changes the environment in your room, such as a study lamp or something. Every time you wanna study turn it on, it works better than you may think. Also going to different room in your house to study or do something also helps. Like maybe an actual "study" room. Also pacing your activities or studying. Since initially when you start off doing something you'll be really productive, but then it eventually starts to decrease in productiveness cause it's repetitive, thus you get bored. So every 30 minutes or so take a 5-10 minute break, relax in this time, then head back to work. Another thing you could do is reward yourself for working, let's say you get a tad bit hungry, you wanna eat something. So set a goal to accomplish like "I'm going to finish this page of my textbook!" Or "I'm going to do all these Questions on this topic!" After you meet it get some food and relax that way you can accomplish things and be even more productive. It's a type of operant conditioning, meaning when you get rewarded for doing something you're more likely to wanna do it again. Those are some suggestions from me. I hope you get more motivated soon, and have a wonderful day :)

It sounds like you went to Dublin to escape your home, (by that I mean your sadness, ect.) and then once you got to Dublin, you realized that, even though you were in a different place, you still felt the same as you did back home. So, you wanted to go home. My point is, changing your location doesn't change what your feeling, if you don't deal with it. I think u need to get out of that house, so you can think clearly, and deal with your emotions. Then you'll be able to move on and seek other happy things in life. It sounds to me like your feeling trapped.
