Life in American high schools

Hello there! I'm a student from Greece and at the summer of 2015 maybe we gonna move to Memphis or Denver. I want so much to go to the USA because I have seen that it's pretty awesome. The only thing that I worry about is the first days and the thing that I worry the most is when I start school, how I'll make friends or how I can avoid being a bullying victim because I'm not American... I have heard and seen so much about bullying in the USA and I'm a little bit afraid. I'd like you to tell me how to behave and what to do to avoid being a bullying victim and make friends at the same time. I would also like you to give me some information about American tennagers' life..

USA is full of non-American's. Its not a new issue. In fact I don't think it is an issue at all. I wouldn't worry too much about bullying in that area. Human nature seems to work in this way: if you seem intimidated by others they will choose to intimidate you (if they are a bully). Show no fear, nor distress at rude individuals. Simply turn and walk away. Join in with groups of like minded people. You will have a better chance in a group (safer in numbers). Bullies are cowards, they will usually pick on the loner or the one that shows fear of them...the weak individual. Bullies seldom go after the individual with a high self-esteem or the one with a good peer support system.
