What does he want from me

BACKGROUND: Met online, talked , met , dated for 2 weeks then he went to son's for a scheduled 2 week visit while there, he called 3 and 4 times daily, very open, friendly, affectionate. when he came back, our relationship is good, sex is great but 3 months later we are living together and he can be quite moody and silent at times. I cannot break this wall of silence. If a friend calls, he is very talkative and the resumes his silence. later on he is friendly again. there is no rhyme or reason to his behavior. we are both mid age, he is 9 yrs divorced and I am widowed 6 yrs.I have met both is sisters and he has met my family which involves out of state visits and he wants to go back to visit with my family. But and But he says one day he will leave our state which he hates and he will be going alone and yet he says he loves me very much. He owns a home locally which was left to him and wants to sell when the market turns around. In the meantime, he seems to be just killing time with his life. He cannot afford to live in New York where he came from and does not know where he will end up living, just someplace else. His sisters are just as confused as I. If I get frustrated and want to go to my home for a few days, he protests that he loves me and doesn't want me to go. I admit I would move anywhere with him as I have no family ties that would be affected. Am I wasting my time with this man? Any insight would be helpful. Have to tell you I was in an abusive marriage for years, so he is a saint compared to my deceased husband, his being moody and lack of commitment is my main concern.
